Turin Silver Skiff

Nov 9, 2025

Turin’s Cerea Rowing Club hosts a long distance sculling race up the river around a buoy and back for 11km . It is a magic race where you can race against the best in-the world and all age groups on flat water . There is no getting cold through long marshalling as you don’t go afloat till 30 mins from your start time . Results are given as you cross the finish and the race is live streamed .

This year there were over 700 competitors from all over the world including 70 from GB. Martin Sinkovic of Croatia won the men’s race and GB’s Lauren Henry the women’s race.

Tom raced in veteran I (75 -79) and was beaten by Rod Stewart of Upper Thames and into second, however they were both well ahead of the other I singles.

Tom enjoyed some compensation for not winning as he finally got presented with a model skiff, a prize awarded for getting three wins, which he has accmomplished over the years.

If you scull this race is a good one to do!
