Chiswick Amateur Regatta

May 2, 2026

The club had four finalists at Chiswick Regatta this weekend on a glorious spring day, only slightly marred by light rain late in the afternoon. Pride of place goes to the Women’s Masters D quad scull which won an all-Quintin final from an original field of six crews. Congratulations to Kira Vermang, Polly Atkinson, Heather Chapman and Inkeri Abbotts on their win and commiserations to runners-up Roberta Gargiulo, Ainslie Rimmer, Jacqueline Marie and Jacqui Sutherland. Mark O’Brien had a tough race in the Open Single Sculls, losing to Chesney of Poplar, Blackwall and District RC by two lengths, while our Women’s Masters D eight came second to Barnes Bridge Ladies’ in a three-boat race where they managed to hold off Mortlake Anglian and Alpha by half a length. The club also had an interest in Women’s Junior 14 coxed quad sculls, where a composite Quintin/Chiswick School crew lost in the semi-final,having beaten a Shiplake College crew in the first round.

The club had eight other entries in the regatta in various masters categories, but the regatta’s busy schedule and the lack of opposition meant they were unable to be accommodated.

Thanks must go the the regatta organisers, umpires, volunteers and sponsors many of whom are club members.

Full results of all races may be found at https://www.chiswickregatta.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Detailed-results-2026.pdf.

The win by the women’s quad kicks off our Potwinners Chart for the racing season.
