Quintin Head 2025 – Race Report

Feb 2, 2025

Under the expert coaching of Duncan Hughes, our Quintin eight took to the Tideway on January 25 for Quintin Head. The crew secured an impressive 89th place out of 283 crews, ranking them 8th out of 18 in their category.

A Footnote from Alexander Apkarian (Men’s Captain)

The sun made for a stunning race day, a rare winter treat that lifted the crew’s spirits. Leveraging our home advantage, we powered through the last-minute crew changes. The energy in the boat remained high and everyone executed their roles exceptionally well. Notwithstanding the wash from the odd launch and crew we were chasing down (and eventually overtook), we pushed hard through the course, found a solid rhythm early on and sustained it until the finish. With the foundation we’ve laid, I’m confident we can carry this momentum forward into the rest of the season, with our sights on Henley.
