QUINTIN BOAT CLUB 12-HOUR ERGATHON SMASHES TARGET!
What a day! On Saturday 10 May, the QBC community came together for a brilliant 12-hour fundraising Ergathon – rowing side-by-side, stroke-for-stroke, from Lechlade to The Thames Barrier and back. That’s a virtual round trip of over 310 miles – and we absolutely smashed it rowing a grand total of 364miles and raising over £13,000!!
The erg lineup took pride of place at the front of the boathouse, facing the Thames. With music pumping, photos snapping, and Instagram stories flying, the energy was unbeatable. Rowers of all ages and abilities took part, from junior students to seasoned veterans, and even the odd Olympian thrown in for good measure, all sharing the load in 28-minute stints. Each slot included just enough time to adjust, row hard, and clean down before the next took over. No barriers, just brilliant teamwork.
