Women’s Quad

May 9, 2024

On the 4th of May, our women’s quad “The Jackson Four”, raced for the first time at the club’s Chiswick Regatta. They all took up rowing in the last few years under the expert guidance of Jackie Eastwood and thought the time ripe to take their efforts further!

They raced 3-abreast against Bewl Bridge and Thames Trademen in a Women’s D/E Masters. After a false start and some lengthy marshalling, The Jackson Four had a good tussle with the Bewl Bridge crew all the way down to the line, just missing out over them by one third of a length. Neither had been able to catch the Thames Tradesmen due to their 6 second E crew handicap.

While The Jackson Four can’t yet put a win to their name, the beautiful weather and the loud cheers of support from their fellow club members made this a fun experience and one they want to repeat later in the season. A story to be continued!
