Graham Bagnall and Slavo Radosovic along with Slavo’s Croatian friend Darko Miksic, who has rowed for Quintin several times over the last couple of years, attended this regatta, raced over 1000 metres on one of the most beautiful lakes in Europe,surrounded by the forested Julian Alps. Along with Colin Barratt of Ardingly RC they rowed in Masters I coxless fours just missing the gold medal by half of a second to a Swiss/Hungarian combination. The same crew came third in Masters I quad sculls. Unfortunately their race in Masters H quads was cancelled because of lightning and an almighty storm, which turned the boatpark into a quagmire! The quartet also teamed with Chris Andrews (Medway), Steve Aquilina (TSS), Fan Mossop (KRC),and Stewart Harries (Wimbleball) to form a Masters H eight and won the gold medal by nearly 2 lengths in a time 3.37. Slavo and Darko also competed in Masters H coxless pairs and Masters I double sculls, finishing second in each race.
Graham also competed in a Masters I double scull with Colin Barratt, finishing third, and Graham crewed in a Masters J eight with Clive Cooper (UTC), Fred Hollis (Derby RC), Klaus Riekemann (MBRC), George Perrin (Runcorn), Dick Garrard (Corio Australia), George Xouris (Swan River Australia),and Shirl Musselle (Bedford Star) which won the gold medal in a time of 3.49.
