Meet the Coaches

Duncan Hughes

Captain and Coach

The Captain runs the coaching setup. A Henley semi-finalist with Quintin and synonymous with the Quintin Elite squad of the 80s and 90s. Originally a product of the powerhouse Mike Rosewell set up at St Edwards School and probably the only GB Junior to row on different sides at the same regatta.

Jackie Eastwood

Coach

Jackie has been on the water since 1992 as a competitor taking part in Internationals, Commonwealth, World Cups and was in the qualifying squad for the Olympics. She now coaches novices to competition level and racing crews. Her J15 Girls quad from Chiswick Commnity School won a local regatta in 2024, their first win for 60 years.

Simon Hunt

Coach

Simon has been rowing since 2004 when he joined Parr’s Priory RC. He was captain there for 12 years and helped run their Learn to Row programme. Having more recently been rowing and coaching at Brentford Masters, he now joins us coaching crews from beginners to those preparing to race.

Richard White

Coach

A former captain, Richard joined Quintin in the 90s and is the Founder of the Quintin Head. When not running Rugby 7s tournaments or Athletics meetings he can be found at either our Putney annexe or on the Chiswick stretch.

 

Ken Creighton

Coach

Ken is a British Rowing qualified coach. He started rowing in 1986 as a junior in Seattle. With his junior club, he won 3 US National Championships and was invited to the US Junior National Team camp. He went on to row for the University of California Berkeley where he was team Commodore. Ken has coached a range of abilities from Learn2Row to Race Crews on the Tideway for several years.

 

Cris Maby

Coach

Cris is a stalwart of Thames Rowing Club having featured in countless crews for them at Henley in the 80s and 90s. His particular specialism is in small boats.

Liz Bushby

Coach

A qualified British Rowing club coach, Liz spent several years at Twickenham RC progressing from a beginner to Senior Women’s captain, before moving into coaching. She has worked with both adults and juniors, from their first strokes through to local and national successes. Following time away from the sport, Liz briefly rowed with Brentford Masters RC before joining us at Quintin BC.
